Vintage clothing is a generic term for new or second hand garments originating from a previous era.
Two reasons for me to buy Vintage pieces are: One the vintage purchase is fueled by the excitement of the hunt. It is easy to find current pieces in your local mall or online site, but shopping for vintage is an unparalleled treasure hunt and two The quality, including materials, embellishments, and craftsmanship, in older pieces makes it purchase worthy.
In fashion we take the word VINTAGE from the culture of wine . Much like you can have a great wine from a few years back ,so you too can have a fantastic piece of clothing that is not technically that old. Like wine, vintage clothing gets better, intensifies in quality and gains value with age.
That is what vintage fashion means to me – getting clothes that meant a lot to somebody in the past and wear them my own way!!!
